When it comes to summertime seasonals, there are three rules that usually apply. Keep it light. Keep it refreshing. Keep it tasty. If you can follow those guidelines, more often than not your going to end up with a delicious brew. And while I'm pretty sure that if I were to ask you to make a list of some of your favorites from this style, most of you could easily do so. But, I'm here to tell you that if said list does not include the Brooklyn Summer Ale from Brooklyn Brewery on it, then that list totally needs some editing.

When poured in the glass it already meets the first qualification of keeping things light. The coloration is a light golden straw, and the fluffy white head looks as though it could float away at any time. When you get your nose in the glass, the easiest way for me to describe the smell is to tell you to imagine freshly baked biscuits made with lemon zest and caramel infused yeast. Yep. That pretty much nails it. Yummy, huh? Well when you go in for the first taste, imagine the taste of those caramel lemon biscuits with a lively amount of carbonation and just a slight floral hops bite on the tongue, and you have the Brooklyn Summer Ale in all its glory. Light. Refreshing. Tasty. In all honesty, this is how summer seasonals should be done.

When it comes to breweries that have their act together, Brooklyn Brewery has always been high up on my list, and the Brooklyn Summer Ale is a prime example of why. This is a beer that all levels of drinkers can enjoy, and I highly recommend that you all do so. The great flavor, light body, and refreshing nature of it makes it practically a no-brainer. Summer is in full swing, and this is one beer that is perfect for the season!

The Brooklyn Summer Ale has become one of my go-to brews for the summer. That lemony biscuit flavor is perfect for a round of golf, lounging at the beach, or just relaxing on the porch. And as an added bonus, it comes in 24 can cases! I've already loaded my cooler many times with these beauties.
