Greetings fellow beer lovers! My name is Zack and I am the owner of BrewChief.com. I sincerely hope you are enjoying the website, I've worked long and hard to make it an entertaining and educational experience.

I was first introduced to the craft beer movement after moving to to the gorgeous Pacific Northwest. As a stark contrast to the South where I grew up, I noticed that every pub offered an array of locally brewed craft beers. I tried the Mac and Jack's African Amber and the rest as they say, is history. To this day it is still one of my all time favorite beers. I have since been fascinated by the endless nuances of craft beer. Now through BrewChief, I am thrilled to share those experiences with fellow beer fans from around the world.

Oh, and ''Chops'' is actually my old online gaming alias. Kind of stuck with me and I still respond to it. Yes, I'm a geek.

BrewChief Status

You will notice that every BrewChief member has a status. This simply denotes what level of access that any given member has. There are currently three different levels, detailed below:

Admin:  Super users with control over website content.

Chief:  These members enjoy certain perks, like the ability to post Chief Chats and the ability to edit reviews after comments have been posted. Their reviews and postings are also featured on BrewChief's social networks. Chief status is reserved for members who have proven themselves as quality review writers.

Member:  This is the standard membership that everyone starts off with. All members can post reviews and comments.

Becoming a Chief

Achieving Chief Status is pretty straight forward. Just write good beer reviews. Once you have built a decent portfolio, simply send us an email via our Contact Us page requesting Chief status. We will review what you have written and determine whether or not to elevate your status. And don't worry, this isn't some elitist judgment or anything. BrewChief prides itself on quality review content, so if your reviews lack a desired level of depth, then we will happily respond with some constructive suggestions.

BrewChief Icons

With all the great brews out there, BrewChief.com is an info-heavy website. So in order to keep things as de-cluttered as possible, we use icons in lieu of common links. Below is a list of all the icons we use and what they represent.
